Abstract
The objective of this work was to study the effect of application of wastewater on drippers with and without chemical treatment. An experiment bench was mounted with four drip application units using maturation pond effluent. Three dripper models were tested (M1, M2 and M3), for the time of 560 h, besides three free chlorine residual concentrations (0,4; 1,0 and 1,9 mg L-1). In accordance to the obtained results, it may be concluded that the maturation pond effluent caused considerable reductions, in the values of uniformity coefficient of water distribution (CUD) and that all the tested chemical treatments minimized the formation of biofilm in the interior of the drippers and the lateral lines.
