Nutritional status of coconut grown in soils submitted to different compaction and moisture levels

In order to evaluate the effect of compaction and moisture in absorption of by greennutrients dwarf coconut plants, an experiment was carried out under greenhouse, in Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ. The experimental design was in randomized block in factorial scheme (2 x 4 x 4), with three repetitions. The treatments were 2 soil classes (Typic Kandiudult and Umbric Dystrochrept), 4 levels of soil compaction and 4 water levels. The soils were differentiated in the nutrient supply, with higher levels of Mg and Cu in plants cultivated in Umbric Dystrochrept and K and Ca in Typic Kandiudult soil. The elevation of soil moisture altered the availability of nitrogen, so plants cultivated in Typic Kandiudult soil presented higher levels of N in leaves under in the highest soil moisture level. In Typic Kandiudult, the compaction affected the Mn and Cl absorption, with higher levels of Mn and smaller of Cl occurring in the plants cultivated with highest levels of compaction.
