Growth and absorption of nutrients of banana plants under irrigation with saline Waters

Abstract

It was conducted an experiment in greenhouse on the banana plant, aiming to verify the behavior of its growing components under two turns of the salt water irrigation, at the CECAUFAL. It was used vases filled with 16kg of soil (dystrophic yellow argyleous), irrigated with distillated water showing as electric conductivity the values of 0,2, 1,0, 2,0 and 2,4 dS m-1, using the gravimetric method. It was observed that there was a reduction of the growth componentes and of the P content, and an increase of the contents the Na and K with an increasing of the electric conductivity.
