Potassium and sodium contentes in leachate and soils after vinasse application

Abstract

The present study evaluated leachate quality and behavior of different types of soils after vinasse application. For this, three soils (Nitossolo, Argissolo and Espodossolo) were reproduced in 27 PVC columns of 20 x 110 cm (diameter x height), maintaining the horizons, thickness and densities. The soils were irrigated with vinasse at 0 (Control), 350 and 700 m3 ha-1, applied at 30 and 60 days, and effluent samples collected for K and Na analysis. After the incubation period, soil samples were also collected at respective horizon depths for K and Na analysis. The results pointed out that vinasse application induced K and Na variation in leachate, with the lowest values in Nitossolo, followed by Espodossolo. In soils there was increase in K and decrease in Na.
