REMOTE SENSING TEACHING WITH INTERNET TOOLS IN THE AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING UNDERGRADUATE COURSE

ABSTRACT

This research consisted of developing a teaching methodology, based on INTERNET tools, for the Remote Sensing I taught in the DEAg (Agricultural Engineering Department) of UFPB (Federal University of Paraíba). This research is a contribution to engineering informatization disciplines program. The methodology shows all topics of this discipline program. Although the work is dedicated to Agricultural Engineering courses, the basic themes and applications can be used in others engineering courses and others areas that need Remote Sensing resources. The deficiency of a basic teaching material for the Remote Sensing discipline is too big, especially in courses like Agricultural Engineering that study a specific segment related to natural resources.This provided motivation to conduct this work in order to cover practical material deficiency and provide information with some Agricultural Engineering applications. In this work it is noticed that computational tools utilization are a stimulus learning experience to the students, show them new kinds of tools and give them some new future needed engineer work. This new teaching methodology presented here is very efficient in learning Remote Sensing I discipline content in under graduate UFPB Agricultural Engineering program.
