Trajectories of black women quota students in Porto Velho-RO

This article analyzes the academic experiences of five Black women quota students at the Universidade Federal de Rondônia. Based on narrative interviews, four analysis axes emerged as results for discussion: conceptions about the quota policy, first impressions and (re)construction of identities, processes and difficulties, suggestions for improvement. The discussion of results shows the process of racial self-discovery, a lack of institutional care and the construction of a support network for these students. It is concluded that their views are essential to improve the quota policy.
