  • Tem um Estudante Autista na minha Turma! E Agora? O Diário Reflexivo Promovendo a Sustentabilidade Profissional no Desenvolvimento de Oportunidades Pedagógicas para Inclusão Relato De Pesquisa

    FISCHER, Marta Luciane

ABSTRACT Higher Education has overcome the barriers of inclusion by envisioning the training of self-employed professionals prepared for the professions of the future. Considering the use of the reflexive journal technique in education, its effectiveness in the confluence of the demands of teaching for competence, exercise of active methodologies and inclusion promoted by the professional sustainability of a professor without special education training is questioned in this paper. The objective was to evaluate, through the systematic content analysis, three pedagogical practices recorded according to premises and practical arguments in teaching with (Biological Sciences) and without (Psychology) autistic students. The intervention was guided by the implementation of active methodologies during the school semester. The results indicate the effectiveness of the technique, since the identification of the problem, reflection and decision making had effects on the performance of the professor, crossing the development of skills in students with special educational needs, sensitizing them to overcome limitations also of neurotypic students.

ABSTRACT Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for children with cerebral palsy is essential for their engagement in different contexts. Therefore, the purpose of this paper was to verify the effects of a program of AAC for a non-verbal child with cerebral palsy in three different contexts of daily life: school, home and rehabilitation settings. This study used a Multiple-probe Experimental Design. The participants were a child with cerebral palsy and three communication partners in their respective settings: teacher, mother and occupational therapist. The intervention consisted of the individualized process of theoretical and practical training directed at the communication partners and implementation of the AAC. After implementation of the intervention program, the results showed that the child and the communication partners successfully used AAC resources. The results indicate that the strategies adopted in the three contexts were effective and provided to the child and his communication partners an understanding of how to use the AAC effectively.

ABSTRACT This text presents results of an investigation on Special Education (SE) in the initial formation of teachers of Early Childhood Education and initial grades of Elementary Education, in the Pedagogy degree courses offered by the Federal Universities of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a documentary and bibliographic analysis using as main sources the Legal Guidelines and the Courses Pedagogical Master Plans (PMP). In 2018, ten active courses were identified, in the face-to-face modality, at the Universities: UNIFAL, UFJF, UFLA, UFMG, UFOP, UFSJ, UFU, FACIP / UFU, UFV and UFVJM. It was found that the PMP met the National Guidelines for Higher Education Courses, approved in 2006. All courses offered curricular components related to SE, but with reduced course hours (CH) compared to the total CH. The study of "Sign Language" was included in all PMP in compliance with Decree 5,626/2005. The comparative analysis of the documents corroborates previous research, such as: Deimling (2013), Omote and Marinho (2017), Pedroso, Campos and Duarte (2013). SE occupies a restricted space in the curricula, in the objectives, in the profile of the graduate, in the CH, in the organization of the formative trajectories, which represents a gap in the initial formation. These evidences indicate the necessary expansion of SE space in Pedagogy Courses and the continuous training of teachers in this area in order to make inclusive education real.
  • Ações do Atendimento Pedagógico Domiciliar: Possibilidades e Desafios Relato De Pesquisa

ABSTRACT This study proposes the description and analysis of possibilities and challenges in the work with students with disabilities from the Pedagogical Home Care in the city of Santos, state of São Paulo, Brazil, according to the teachers' point of view. For that, we chose a qualitative methodology and a semi-structured interview with teachers who work in this context. Eight female teachers from the Pedagogical Home Care participated; they had more than one year of experience at the job and worked with children and adolescents with disabilities. Data analysis allowed the understanding of meanings, values and attitudes that correspond to the processes of reality. The specific literature, official documents on Inclusive Education, Hospital Classes and Pedagogical Home Care guided this research and made possible the legislation support. The results indicate that it is essential to think about the role and (re)significance of the teacher's role in this process. The plurality of knowledge and the articulation of education and health emerge as a fundamental aspect for a collective construction that favors the teaching performance. Another relevant aspect was the reflection on the re-signification of the teaching profession in the home environment, collaborating with the elaboration of proposals for more effective actions in the work with the Pedagogical Home Care students, as well as the possibility of extending this practice to other situations within the school scope, and the guarantee of effective schooling outside the "school walls" for other municipalities.
  • Limitações da Avaliação Automatizada de Acessibilidade em uma Plataforma de MOOCS: Estudo de Caso de uma Plataforma Brasileira Relato De Pesquisa

SOUZA, Napoliana; CARDOSO, Eduardo; PERRY, Gabriela Trindade

ABSTRACT Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have been announced as a promising educational tool, driving a high number of applications, enabling open learning with an emphasis on the diversity of users. However, literature has pointed to the lack of accessibility in MOOCs. With the intention of improving accessibility support for a MOOC platform, a multi-format course was evaluated using automated tools. The results of the automated tests indicated some accessibility problems of the platform, which can hinder the participation of people with disabilities, signaling the need to design such platforms in an inclusive way. However, this type of test is not capable of discriminate relevant areas, functionalities and contents within a web page, nor is it able to differentiate between different roles of users. The result is that platform areas that are not visible to students (such as platform administration and course editing areas) are also evaluated - even if that is not the goal. For this reason, it was concluded that, to evaluate the inclusion support, it is necessary to combine a qualitative method with the automated tests. The indication of the limitation of this type of test is the most important finding.

ABSTRACT: This work sought to investigate the implementation of a public policy for inclusive education in the Municipal Education Network of Corumbá/Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, through the actions and perceptions of the implementing agents, both within the Secretariat of Education and the school. We sought to learn how education policies aimed at students with disabilities are implemented and the conditions of assistance to these students in the Municipal Network. As theoretical framework, we used the studies on Middle-Level and Street-Level Bureaucracy to understand the perceptions and interactions among agents. Disability Studies provided us with important keys for interpreting phenomena through the sociological perspective of disability, especially the concept of Ableism. Initially, we conducted a survey on enrollment and schools from the School Census. Then, a survey was applied to the management teams and teachers of all urban schools of the Municipal Network, from which three schools were chosen for qualitative research. The results showed that the implementing agents, despite their efforts to carry out the work, found difficulties that interfere directly with their performance.

ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to analyze how the potentialities and limits of a formative process involving Special Education teachers can be characterized in order to favor reflections on the performance of these Special Education teachers facing the teaching and learning of Natural Sciences involving blind and low vision students. In order to achieve this goal, we developed a formative process with 17 teachers, 2 of which were blind, who work in the Special Education field in the municipal school system. This qualitative research had as its corpus of analysis: textual productions of the teachers resulting from activities carried out during the formative process; records from a virtual collective diary, and texts originated from transcription of semi-structured interviews. The discursive textual analysis was chosen as the analytical procedure. From the data analysis, it was possible to find out that teachers of Special Education recognize, in parts, the limits of their performance regarding the teaching of Natural Sciences for blind and low vision students. Based on the inter-collective circulation category, derived from Ludwik Fleck's epistemology, attention was drawn to the importance of the interaction between Special Education teachers and different professionals, which might help them face the limits on their performance regarding the teaching and learning of Natural Sciences.
  • As Interações Pedagógicas na Perspectiva do Ensino Colaborativo (Coensino): Diálogos com o Segundo Professor de Turma em Santa Catarina Relato De Pesquisa

    BUSS, Beatriz; GIACOMAZZO, Graziela Fatima

ABSTRACT: This paper presents the results of a research that sought to analyze the perception of the Second Classroom Teachers about the pedagogical interactions that are established between this professional and the main classroom teacher in the perspective of collaborative teaching (Co-teaching). To this end, the role of the Second Classroom Teacher and his/her attributions are contextualized according to the legal documents and inclusion policies in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The Co-teaching is conceptualized from the theoretical contributions of Mendes, Vilaronga and Zerbato (2014), Vilaronga (2014), Costas and Correia (2012), França (2016), Zerbato (2014) and Mendes (2002, 2006). In the context of a qualitative research, the analyzes fall upon the voice of ten Second Classroom Teachers and the data from a post-interview self-assessment. It was noticed that there are still advances to be made regarding the inclusion of students with disabilities in regular schools that impact the co-teaching culture in the school environment, bypassing the pedagogical relations between the teachers who work in the same class.

ABSTRACT: This study carried out a systematic review of the literature guided by the following research question: How have the empirical research based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning - UDL influenced the inclusion of the Specialized Educational Service Teacher - SEST in the international literature? The general objective was to map and analyze the international empirical research involving the UDL interface and inclusion. To do so, the research was carried out in the journal database of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - CAPES and the descriptors used were "universal design for learning" and "inclusion". As a selection criterion, it was established that only papers published in English language would be analyzed in peer-reviewed journals; in addition, for analysis, it was necessary that the paper reported an empirical research. Thus, 44 papers were initially found, and after the application of the criteria, seven were analyzed. The results show that most of the published works have theoretical conceptions about the subject, but without the realization of an applied research. The few empirical studies found are centered around questionnaires and interviews, as well as teacher training. It is concluded that the need for research that directly apply the principles proposed by the UDL emerges, so that it is possible to analyze the effects of the application of the UDL in the inclusion of all students in the school.

A revisão foi pautada no modelo Preferred Reporting Items for Systematics Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). Adotaram-se as palavras-chave e marcadores boleanos autism [or] autist [or] autistic [and] echoic [and] verbal behavior.

ABSTRACT: Literature has shown a large gap in studies aiming to establish an echoic in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Thus, the objective of this study was to identify the collection of research aimed at teaching echoic in individuals with ASD. The review was based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematics Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) model. The search, of all occurrences, without time limit, until the year 2018, was performed in the Web of Science, Pubmed, Scopus, ERIC and PsichINFO database. The keywords and boolean operators autism [or] autist [or] autistic [and] echoic [and] verbal behavior were adopted. The inclusion criteria were articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish that established echoic as a dependent variable in interventions with people with ASD, present a single subject experimental design and demonstrate the data of the echoic acquisition during the teaching sessions. As a result, 338 articles were found and, with the application of the inclusion criteria, three were selected. The results corroborate the data in the literature that point out the deficit of studies to establish echoic as the main target of teaching in people with ASD. Most studies adopt echoic as a prompt for establishing other verbal behavior. Even if scarce, the articles indicate the effects of different procedures under the acquisition of the echoic behavior in people with ASD and with diversified initial repertories.

ABSTRACT: This paper examines the development of concepts in children with and without disabilities through digital game creation activities. The study presents the use of technology in a pedagogical approach based on Vygotsky's theories related to conceptual elaboration, imagination, and creativity in childhood and on advanced studies in game design with children. The qualitative research adopted the Design-Based Research (DBR) as a methodological approach, which made the collaborative and collective performance of students in games creation activities possible. The interdisciplinary team was composed by researchers and undergraduate students in the areas of computing, education, and design and by four children from the third year of Elementary Education at a school in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, including two with intellectual disabilities. Data analysis revealed the children's appropriation of concepts about digital games and their components, the perception of the game creation process, the complexity inherent in the construction of technologies, and the critical view of children regarding games and their use. Intellectual differences among children were overcome through approaches that favored their different competencies, which afforded admiration among peers, mutual respect, and school inclusion.
  • Experiências Acadêmicas de Estudantes Universitários com Transtornos do Espectro Autista: uma Análise Interpretativa dos Relatos Prêmio Melhores Teses E Dissertações

OLIVATI, Ana Gabriela; LEITE, Lucia Pereira

ABSTRACT: Given the growing rate of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) entering university, this study sought to describe the academic experience of six students with this diagnosis, regularly enrolled in a public university in the state of São Paulo. Individual interviews were conducted to identify topics related to undergraduate entry, permanence, accessibility, relationships and suggestions for improvements in the university context. Based on the precepts of the Historical-Cultural Psychology, we used the qualitative analysis of the reports, especially the core of meaning, which constituted the initial establishment of pre-indicators, followed by the agglutination of this content into indicators, and the construction of the Core of Meaning. As a result, poor interactional experiences were verified during Basic Education. At the university, the controversies between interest in undergraduate studies and lack of preparation in the university context appeared as factors that generate anguish and anxiety associated with barriers to permanence and the need to complete the course within the regulatory period. It was identified the need for adjustments both in the singular and in the academic social context, with emphasis on the participation of students with ASD, which is still little debated and recognized, and the adaptations to the environment, which fall mainly to the subject, against the precepts of educational inclusion.
  • Políticas de Educação Especial no Estado de Alagoas Prêmio Melhores Teses E Dissertações

    PAVEZI, Marilza; MAINARDES, Jefferson

ABSTRACT: This paper presents an analysis of the Special Education policies produced and enacted in the State of Alagoas, Brazil (1990-2018). The theoretical framework is based on the policy cycle approach, enactment theory and concepts of Pierre Bourdieu's theory. The research data were collected through documentary analysis, semi-structured interviews and classroom observations, having been submitted to the relational analysis proposed by Bourdieu. It is argued that there is a tendency in the State of Alagoas to reproduce/recontextualize national policies, resulting in policies with a low capacity for articulation with reality, as well as with the needs of the subjects. The results indicate limited autonomy in the production of legal texts that normalize Special Education and insufficient presence of the State in guaranteeing the minimum conditions for the enactment of these policies in Alagoas. As a consequence, the difficulties in transforming the educational system into an inclusive space are exacerbated.

ABSTRACT: This research aimed to verify if, among three themes, commonly used in teacher Education for Special Education, any would present greater potential to promote changes in social attitudes in undergraduate students. It was developed and implemented a teacher-preparation program in order to test this effect of the following themes: History, Policies and Pedagogical Practices. The training program was developed in Moodle and was divided into three units, each addressing one of the topics. Eighty-eight undergraduate students participated in the study, distributed in three Moodle rooms. The course environment was composed of three main tabs concentrating the three themes to be tested, and three separate virtual rooms were created. Each room started the course with a theme, which were addressed simultaneously and interspersed. Before and after the participation of the undergraduate students in the first unit of the course, their social attitudes were measured by Likert Scale of Social Attitudes in relation to inclusion (ELASI). By means of statistical tests, it was verified that there was no statistically significant difference in the attitudes of the students for each one of the subjects tested among the rooms, as well as intra-rooms. However, it should be considered that the majority of the students have already started the course with attitudes close to the extreme maximum of ELASI. The results suggest that the topics covered in undergraduate courses present some potential to promote changes in attitudes among undergraduates, but perhaps it is time to rethink the approach and significance given to these disciplines.
