  • Escala de Eficácia Docente para Práticas Inclusivas: Validação da Teacher Efficacy for Inclusive Practices (TEIP) Scale Relato De Pesquisa

MARTINS, Bárbara Amaral; CHACON, Miguel Claudio Moriel

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this research was to analyze the psychometric properties of the Brazilian version of Teacher Efficacy for Inclusive Practices (TEIP) Scale. The version translated and adapted to Brazilian culture is called Escala de Eficácia Docente para Práticas Inclusivas (EEDPI) and was applied to a sample of 308 teachers of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education I and II, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The Factorial Exploratory Analysis showed that its psychometric properties are adequate, as well as the existence of two factors, named “Classroom management” and “Planning and collaboration”. The same sample also responded to the Teacher self-efficacy Scale: short version, considered “gold standard”, in order to evaluate the efficacy of the EEDPI in measuring what it proposes, based on the relation with an external criterion. Spearman’s Correlation Analysis revealed the existence of a positive correlation between the subscales of the instruments, ranging from moderate to strong. The EEDPI still presents good internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha coefficients 0.89, 0.88 and 0.92) and it is an instrument that can aid in the evaluation and monitoring of teacher self-efficacy in view of the inclusion and proposition of the appropriate interventions.

ABSTRACT: This study aimed at analyzing interactional episodes of children with autism in the classroom and schoolyard contexts, considering their peers and teachers. It is understood the relevance of school inclusion and specific social interactions that occur in these contexts from the neurodevelopmental, socio-communicative and behavioral characteristics of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In order to do that, eight filming sessions were held in two private schools, with four teachers, four children with autism and 42 children with typical development. The results were presented in quantitative terms, from the frequencies of interactional episodes; and qualitative terms, from the description of four case studies containing excerpts from the interactional episodes. In spite of the variations between the contexts, the complete interactional episodes were characterized by the use of objects and dyadic mediations directed by the teachers to the autistic children. On the interactions between the pairs, it is emphasized that these exchanges were more frequent during free activities in the context of the classroom. Finally, the role of the study of the interactional episodes for the processes of research, evaluation and intervention in the school area is emphasized.

ABSTRACT: This study aims to know the perception of professors about the movement caused at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ - Macaé Campus with the entry of the first profoundly deaf student in the Medical Course, as well as to identify the demands generated for the course for his access and permanence. For that, a field research was carried out, of qualitative nature and ethnographic approach, having as an instrument the semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed through the semantic categorization method, according to Bardin’s content analysis. Ten professors who accompanied the student were interviewed in the first semester of 2018. From the analysis of the discourses, it was possible to separate them into six main themes: “Legislation and accessibility”, “Teacher training”, “Language barrier”, “Pedagogical changes”, “Feelings and emotions” and “Student schooling”. It was concluded that the professors perceive themselves as part of the institution and were not prepared to receive the deaf student, determining the emergence of different feelings and emotions, such as anxieties, fears and challenges. The professors sought strategies to adapt their classes and assessments, but they observed important learning difficulties of the student. The UFRJ needs to be prepared to welcome deaf students and invest great efforts to ensure an inclusive education for all students with disabilities.

ABSTRACT: Work has undergone significant transformations during the course of humanity, having its own sense disturbed and modified. Thus, it becomes questionable to what extent it acts on the humanization of man, or on the contrary, whether, in the present social context, it can contribute to its dehumanization. In this context, the worker with intellectual disabilities is exposed, in addition to the aspects of exploitation and alienation, to constructs about disability, as preconceptions about their abilities, being considered incapable of occupying jobs that require more elaborate and complex duties. The objective of this study was to analyze the perception of the subject with intellectual disability about his/her participation in the labor market. Thus, two people with intellectual disabilities were selected to talk about their experiences and perceptions. For the interviews, the Life Story method was used, and the data were analyzed through Emerging Themes such as: Work as a principle of humanization and Work as a dehumanization principle. The themes emerged were interpreted according to the ideology of historical-cultural theory, which considers the human being, independently of his/her biological condition, as a subject formed by and in relations with the other. The results evidenced the importance of the work in the human development of the participants that were realized professionally and reached achievements that are beyond the financial aspect, covering those specifically human. The participants in this study contradicted what was generally predicted by society to those with intellectual disabilities and demonstrated that it is possible to humanize themselves through work.

ABSTRACT: This paper discusses the proposal of teacher training and the foundations of the method adopted to teach deaf children, from 1951 to 1961, in which Ana Rímoli de Faria Dória was the director of the National Institute for Education of the Deaf (INES). Based on Marc Bloch’s conception of history, the historical research was chosen as methodology. Speeches recorded in the Annals of the 1st National Conference of Teachers of Deaf Learners, held at INES, in 1959, and supporting texts were analyzed. The results point out that the conception of education, based on the correction of the disability, had a dialog with theoretical conceptions spread at that time, influencing teacher training, since they should teach oralization and lip reading to deaf children, according to the principles of the Pure Oral Method adopted throughout the national territory.
