Abstract
When purchasing sunglasses it is important to ensure that they offer effective protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Although invisible, this type of radiation can cause serious damage to the retina. The use of lenses without adequate UV protection can prove to be harmful, since the decrease in visible light leads to an increase in the pupil of the eye. In this work, we propose the construction of a device to test the reduction in the light intensity introduced by colored sunglasses lenses. The system is based on color LEDs and a photosensor with integrated amplification.
