Games for the training of health professionals in attention to gender violence

The violence against women is recognized as a public health problem by the magnitude of the consequences caused to life and health of women. However, attention to the problem in the sector is still ineffective due to the invisibility of violence in the health services. Thus, there is urgent need to uncover the problem in services and to qualify professionals, using new techniques and knowledge. Thus, this paper highlights the use of Serious Games (SG) to contribute to the qualification of professional practices. These games are widely used digital applications in different areas (health, military, education) that have educational content in a playful and interactive way. A SG may contribute to the continuing education of health professionals regarding the attention to gender violence based on the approach of theoretical concepts associated with the problem and systematized in a conceptual map. From this, it was observed that training activities on gender violence involved, well as cognitive aspects of learning, also affective aspects, since it involves changing conceptions and practices.
