Summary:
Clinical reasoning and decision-making in medicine - a course integrating internal medicine and epidemiology.
A course took place in 1986, for medical students aimed at improving their clinical reasoning and the ability to make decisions. The clinical and epidemiologic knowledge was integrated to permit that the students considered and understood the value of several variables related to the efficiency of the clinical activity.
The students have got more ability for: 1. getting and assessing information; 2. listing problems; 3. making diagnostic, therapeutic and educational plans; 4. using a method of study oriented by the identified problems of the patients.
In the student's opinion the course was important and it should also be offered to master's students, doctors in general includion professors of medicine.
