The author establishes an understandable vision of medical education from a philosophical approach. He also establishes the basic philosophical positions of each school (Idealism, Realism, Pragmatism and Existencialism) and the philosophies of education which derive from them. He analyses the positivist philosophical origins of the Flexner Report and, after comparing the praxis of the current education with the principles which characterize each one of the modem philosophical schools of education, he concludes that the praxis adopts an ecletic position.
