ABSTRACT

A new replacement name for Brethesia Maia (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae). Brethesiamyia nom. nov. is proposed for Brethesia Maia, 2009 (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae) preocc. Brethesia Schrottky, 1909 (Hymenoptera).

RESUMO

Brethesiamyia nom. nov. é proposto para Brethesia Maia, 2009 (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae), pré-ocupado por Brethesia Schrottky, 1909 (Hymenoptera).

Maia (2009 in Maia et al. 2009) described the monotypic genus Brethesia for a new species of Cecidomyiidae (Diptera) from Minas Gerais, Brazil. As the name Brethesia is preoccupied by Schrottky (1909), the name Brethesiamyia nom. nov. is proposed here as a replacement for Brethesia Maia, 2009.
