Abstract:
Golgota Picnic is a performance by Rodrigo Garcia staged for the first time in Madrid in January 2011. Due to the frequent use of the image of Christ, the performance has been attacked by some Catholic associations, which have considered it blasphemous. Starting from the analysis of the performance, this essay wants to identify how certain obscene - and potentially blasphemous - features of a performance could reveal some tensions between artistic production and control institutions.
