Abstract:
This paper examines Didier Ruiz's show TRANS (Més enllà), which features testimonials from trans people. What role does the presence of the body play in the testimony? Can theatre produce an archive in the present? Based on the work of Jacques Derrida and Sam Bourcier, a trans author, this paper quotes the expression archival body, that is to say bodies whose presence on stage makes it possible to make an archive. The aim is to question the relations of power between bodies and the theatrical institution and to question the view-viewed device in the constitution of a collective memory.
