Production of 'Juliana' grape on rootstocks and prunning times

This study aimed to verify the influence of three rootstocks on the behavior of the cultivar Juliana in relation to phenology in three pruning times and in relation to physical caracters of clusters, berries and stalks in two pruning times. The experiments were evaluated in Jundiaí, SP and pruning were carried out on 08/15/2007, 01/22/2008 and 16/09/2008. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with split plots with three replications, and plots were the combination of the cultivar Juliana grafted on rootstocks 'Riparia of Traviú', 'IAC 572' and 'IAC 766' and the subplots were pruning, which corresponded to three for the phenological stages and two for the physical caracteres of clusters, berries and stalks. There was no difference between rootstocks for the phenological stages and the physical caracters of bunches and berries, except for fresh weight of berry and fresh weight of stems. Greater fresh weight of stems was obtained by the combination of cultivar Juliana and rootstock 'IAC 572'. For the different pruning times, differences were detected in all phenological stages, with interaction between rootstock and pruning time for stages E1 - period from pruning to the beginning of sprouting, E2 - period from pruning to the beginning of flowering and E5 - a period of pruning the beginning of to the harvest.
