Efficacy of attractants for fruits flies (diptera: tephritidae) captures in guava crops in Itapecuru-Mirim (MA), Brazil

This research was carried out in a commercial guava orchard cv. 'Pera Vermelha' in the Magnificat Community, located at Itapecuru-Mirim (MA) County, aiming to adopt an integrated management system for fruit flies, by trapping different food attractants. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design with four replications. The attractants tested were: Sweet orange juice (50%), acerola juice (30%), guava juice (30%), passion fruit juice (30%) and sugar solution (10%). The results showed that passion fruit juice (30%) and sugar solution (10%) were more attractive for adults fruit flies of Anastrepha distincta Greene, A. sororcula Zucchi, A. striata Schiner, A. obliqua Macquart and A. serpentina Wiedemann.
