Abstract
This article develops some issues of my dissertation, called "Tropicalismo (1967-1969) e Grupo de Experimentación Sonora (1969-1972): engajamento e experimentalismo na canção popular, no Brasil e em Cuba", and focuses the relationship between the Instituto Cubano del Arte e Indústria Cinematográficos (ICAIC) and the most important Brazilian filmaker Glauber Rocha. He and Alfredo Guevara, director of ICAIC, exchanged letters since 1960. After being invited by Guevera, Glauber went to Cuba and worked at the Institute from november 1971 to december 1972. Based on these facts, this article analyzes the influence of the glauberian production on the Cubans filmakers and his role in the debate about the New Latin-American Cine.
