Race and Culture in Classical Anthropological Thought

This essay aims to unveil the concepts of race and culture in what is understood as classical anthropology, which was the anthropology produced approximately between the end of the 19th century and the structuralist revolution. The aim is to contribute to the contemporary debate on the relationship between anthropology and race and propose historically contextualized interpretations. It also aims to provide humanities students with conceptual tools for a more global understanding of concepts of race and culture during the emergence and establishment of anthropology.
