Use of Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC) as Pedagogical Resources for Climatology Teaching: Case Study in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, CE

Abstract

This study presents the results obtained from a survey carried out with teachers from public schools located in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, CE (RMF) belonging to the Municipal Department of Education, Science and Technology - SMECT of the municipality of Caucaia/CE on the use of TDIC in climatology classes in elementary school. In addition, the results of the use of Remote Sensing (SR) techniques as a pedagogical method in climatology classes in the third year of high school are presented. The results showed the incipient use of TDIC as an educational technology despite the recognition of the benefits that these tools provide in the teaching of climatology, in addition to the need for a continuing education program for teachers working in this age group. The application of SR techniques in the study of heat islands showed that this methodology represents great potential as a teaching resource and that it facilitated the understanding of the formation of this phenomenon and its effects on the climate, health and well-being of communities living in these areas. areas in addition to helping students to solve the questions of the National High School Exam (ENEM) and entrance exams.
