Abordagem comportamental. Utilizaram um modelo unidirecional com três experimentos mais um grupo de controle. |
Foram avaliados por questionários antes, após a entrega dos cartões e após 6 meses da intervenção. Houve mudanças estatisticamente significantes para intenções de comportamento e atitudes em relação à prevenção auditiva após a entrega dos cartões mas não foi significante após 6 meses. As mensagens positivas e neutras foram mais bem-sucedidas do que as mensagens negativas em facilitar comportamentos de proteção auditiva entre os mineiros de carvão. |

Foi aplicado um questionário pré-treinamento, um imediatamente após o final e outro dois meses após o treinamento. Em relação às mudanças na intenção de usar protetores auriculares, houve aumento de 40% entre os trabalhadores que receberam a ação dos treinadores e 38% naqueles que receberam dos especialistas, e o uso efetivo do protetor auricular aumentou em 36% e 43%, respectivamente. |

O dosímetro foi colocado nos trabalhadores, sendo fornecido um cartão para anotação sobre o uso do protetor auricular quando o ruído ultrapassasse a dose segura de exposição. |
Foi avaliada a utilização de protetores auditivos no início do estudo através de questionário e comparadas as respostas com as anotações no cartão durante o uso do dosímetro. As taxas de uso de protetor auricular foram muito mais baixas do que esperado nessa população para prevenir efetivamente a perda de audição. |

O programa consistiu numa única apresentação interativa em PowerPoint com vídeos curtos, de duração total de 45 minutos, com um instrutor e treinamento prático para uso de protetor auricular. |
Foram encontradas diferenças significativas entre o pré-treinamento, com 54% de intenção de uso de protetores auriculares passando com o pós -treinamento para 78% de intensão (aumento de 24%), e após 1 ano decaiu para 70% (aumento de 16% em relação à pré-intervenção). Houve diferenças significantes no pré e no pós-teste em relação às intenções comportamentais (p<0,05). |
