The protection of investors in the german Corporate Governance Code

This article analyzes the german Corporate Governance Code as a tool to foster the confidence of investors and the general public in the functioning of companies listed on the stock market. Based on nationally and internationally accepted standards, the code contains recommendations that aim at favoring a more efficient cooperation between the board of directors and the supervisory board. The article also highlights the connection between corporate governance and the promotion of transparency in company management.
