Abstract
The article details the indigenous legal protection within the Inter-American System of Human Rights, as well as the observance level within the South American countries. It analyses the judicial, constitutional and legal reality of the countries the that ratified the American Convention, the International Labour Organisation Convention n. 169 and accepted the Court’s jurisdiction. It aims to analyse the dialogue between those countries’ domestic law and the System, applying the efficacy chain theory.
