Transfeminicide: genealogy and potentialities of a concept

Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing the development and the functions of the concept of transfeminicide as a legal and sociological category. Having appeared within the transfeminist movement, the adoption of the concept of transfeminicide, in order to explain violent lethal crimes against transvestites and trans women, is currently a relevant analytical instrument for reflecting upon this phenomenon, especially useful to locate the demands of the transgender movement.
