Starting from some theoretical presuppositions outlined by feminist studies, we have sought to show how pertinent is the use of gender category as a valuable instrument in the study of an eminently feminine profession such as nursing. This category can contribute to break the ideological structures, strongly androcentric, which obstruct the visualization and validation of nurse's work in health environment.
