Provide care to patients with brain death is complex situation which usually occurs due to acute processes. This clinical condition requires immediate and definitive interventions, and nurses are responsible for most of the care that is delivered. The present study aimed to provide support for nursing practice in managing this clinical emergency, to propose relevant issues to be discussed and reviewed among professors and students and to indicate legal-ethical aspects associated to nursing practice, by means of an experience report.
