ABSTRACT

This text comments on the article entitled “Is this ‘it’? An outline of a theory of depression,” authored by Professor Fernando Cardim de Carvalho. Instead of making critical opposition comments, the objective of this text is to dialogue with Cardim de Carvalho’s ideas, through illustrations with facts (either historical or recent) and connections with J. M. Keynes’s ideas about the Great Depression of the 20th century. It is a tribute to Professor Fernando Cardim de Carvalho.
