As autoras relatam os componentes da enfermagem obstétrica — a mulher no ciclo grávido-puerperal, o problema existente, o contexto onde a mulher é assistida e a assistência de enfermagem que lhe è prestada. Ê dada ênfase ao relacionamento terapêutico enfermeira-paciente. São apresentados os instrumentos de apoio da assistência de enfermagem: observação, entrevista, visita domiciliária e o registro destes. Para assegurar o bem-estar do binômio mãe-filho são descritas as funções: encaminhamento, relacionamento terapêutico enfermeira-paciente e intervenção em crise.

Abstract in English:

The authors describe the components of obstetrical nursing as the woman in the perinatal period, the existent problem, the context where the woman is assisted and the nursing care that is given to her. The emphasis is placed in the therapeutic nurse-patient relationship. The authors present instruments to support nursing care as observation, interviews, domiciliary visit, and the record of these three itens. To assure, as far as possible, the well-being of the binomial mother-child the nurse has to develope functions as guidance, therapeutic nurse-patient relationship, and crisis intervention.

Com o objetivo de oferecer subsídios às enfermeiras de unidades que permitem a presença da mãe junto a seu filho doente, a autora analisa e comenta os critérios utilizados pelas enfermeiras de uma unidade pediátrica, para decidir quais as mães que poderão acompanhar seus filhos durante a hospitalização, fazendo também algumas considerações sobre as acomodações oferecidas às mães em sistema de internação conjunta mãe-filho.

Abstract in English:

Pediatric nurses for decision making about wich mothers may accompany their sick children during hospitalization, in a unit that allows rooming-in, are analized by the author. Some considerations are also made about accomodations offered to these mothers.

A autora relata alguns conceitos de empatia segundo alguns autores e as dificuldades de operacionalização desses conceitos. Propõe o estudo da empatia enquanto fenômeno pelo método fenomenológico e através do envolvimento que vier a se estabelecer em relacionamento com pacientes à morte.

Abstract in English:

The author presents some concepts of empathy according to some authors and the difficulties to perform these concepts. The empathy is suggested to study as a phenomenon by a phenomenologic method and through the envolvement between nurse and patient during the moment the patient passed away.

Os autores apresentam breve revisão de literatura sobre a abordagem fenomenológica na pesquisa em enfermagem. As respostas dadas por 251 enfermeiras à questão "o que é enfermagem" foram agrupadas em categorias e comparadas aos conceitos de enfermagem de HENDERSON e HORTA.

The authors present a brief literature review about the phenomenological approach in nursing research. This issue is an attempt in phenomenological analysis of the concept of nursing. The answers to the question "what is nursing?", made by 251 nurses, were grouped in categories and compared with HENDERSON'S and HORTA's nursing concepts.

No presente trabalho destaca-se a importância da assistência criteriosa à parturiente submetida à estimulação do parto com infusão endovenosa contínua de ocitocina. Para isso, descreve-se os procedimentos recomendados por diversos autores para a administração correta da infusão de ocitocina, assim como para a avaliação das condições materna e fetal, no evolver do primeiro período do parto.

Abstract in English:

This paper emphasizes the importance of specialized nursing assistance to the woman in labor when contractions are stimulated by infusion containing oxytocin. The author describes the procedures recommended in the litterature for the treatment and for control of mother and child conditions during the firts phase of delivery.

Da afirmativa de que a biblioteca é importante pois faz parte integrante do saber e de que a biblioteca universitária especializada de instituição de ensino deverá conter material bibliográfico, pertinente às disciplinas dos cursos oferecidos pelas mesmas, elaboramos um estudo aos usuários não matriculados nos cursos da Unidade. Os objetivos foram dirigidos sobre a caracterização do usuário, dados da busca e utilização da informação e opiniões sobre a biblioteca. O instrumento utilizado foi um questionário contendo perguntas abertas e fechadas. Os resultados demonstraram que os objetivos inicialmente propostos foram atingidos. Também apresentamos comentários analisados das opiniões dadas pelos usuários. Concluímos que estudos deste tipo deverão ser elaborados e avaliados atendendo às necessidades do usuário nas diferentes bibliotecas existentes.

From the affirmative that the Library is important because it is an essential part of knowledge and that the Specialized University Library of a Teaching Institution must contain bibliographical material to support the disciplines within the studies they have to offer; we have elaborated an users study which includes individuals that are not registered as regular students at the Institution. The objectives of it have been directed to the users, characterization, issues of search, and the use of information and opinions about the Library. The instrument that has been used was a questionnaire containing subjectives and objectives questions. The results have demonstrated that the objectives proposed were attained. We have also presented analized comments about the opinions given by the users. We have reached the conclusion that studies of such kind should be elaborated and evaluated regarding the necessity of the user / informations in the different existing Libraries.

As observações aqui descritas prendem-se às decisões automáticas e deliberativas, tomadas por enfermeiros, quando da prestação de cuidados de enfermagem a pacientes internados num Hospital Universitário.

This work presents the results obtained on the first of a series of studies about the Process of Decision making in nursing. The results herein described are the automatic and deliberative decisions made by nurses when attending patients in the University Hospital of Santa Catarina Federal University. Brazil.

Procedeu-se a uma análise da produção científica elaborada por enfermeiros e outros profissionais ligados ao ensino de enfermagem nos ANAIS das Reuniões Anuais da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC) no período de 1949/1983. Verificou-se predominância de trabalhos realizados por docentes sobre os elaborados por enfermeiros de serviço e tendência de decréscimo quantitativo, na área de pesquisa nos últimos cinco anos.

The authors have analized the scientific production presented by nurses and other professionals associated with the teaching of Nursing, published in the ANNALS of the Yearly Meetings of the Brazilian Society for Science Development (SBPC) from 1949 to 1983. Data showed a prevalence of papers prepared by faculty members over those prepared by Nursing Service Staff, as well a tendency for a quantitative decrease in the scientific production in the last five years.

This article gives emphasis to the importance of the emotional envolvement during the nurse-patient relationship in a Psychiatry Hospital. The author, a nursing student, describes her own fears and doubts and how, with the help of her instructors, she overcame them and was able to develop a therapeutic relationship.

The author relates the problems of colostomy patient during the rehabilitation, intestinal control, adequate equipment and skin care. She refers to the control of intestinal habit with colostomy irrigation and relates comparative studies that demonstrated the efficiency and superiority of this method in relation to natural evacuation. She proposes an experimental sistematized study with adaptable and cheap equipment which will not interfere in the therapeutic effect of colostomy and will be used in hospital, ambulatory and at home. The data of this study is being collected in the Proctology Ambulatorial Service of a General Hospital.

O Programa de Livros Didáticos e Materiais de Instrução da Organização Pan-Americana da Saúde da Organização Mundial de Saúde (OPAS/OMS) tem o propósito de contribuir para a formação de recursos humanos na área de saúde, promovendo o hábito de leitura entre os estudantes. A oportunidade para a aquisição de livros-texto a preços reduzidos em relação ao mercado facilita a formação de uma biblioteca de enfermagem, assim como o instrumental básico para o aperfeiçoamento técnico-científico do estudante. De acordo com os termos de um Convênio assinado entre a OPAS/ /OMS e os Ministérios da Saúde e da Educação e Cultura, o Programa funciona em diversas Universidades. A Escola de Enfermagem da USP desde 1975 está vinculada ao Programa atendendo aos pedidos dos estudantes. A partir de 1980 foram incluídos no Programa e postos à disposição de estudantes estetoscópios e aparelhos de pressão. No momento existem 27 títulos de livros-texto básicos e de enfermagem colocados à venda, e é de interesse do Programa que outros livros editados no Brasil sejam nele incluídos, para melhor embasamento teórico dos profissionais de enfermagem.
