Studies on LGBTQIA+ Cinema in Brazil and Latin American Countries

This article presents and analyzes the academic production on the LGBTQIA+ cinema in Brazil and in Latin American countries. The corpus consists of indexed articles found in SciELO and CAPES portals until 2021. We have found 44 research works in which the LGBTQIA+ cinema is studied and observed in the light of both its discourses and its connection to the countries in which the films on the theme have been screened and/or produced. Thus, considering the articles examined, the main theoretical, thematic and methodological outlines presented by such research works were organized.
