Open-access Nursing in times of pandemic: aesthetics of friendship for other ways of life

Abstract:

This study seeks to analyze the care practices of nurses in the context of Covid-19’s pandemic in Primary Health Care (PHC) in the Unified Health System. To this end, a semi-structured interview was carried out with 59 nurses working in PHC in Rio Grande do Sul, as part of the national survey entitled Nursing Practices in the Context of Primary Health Care (PHC): A National Mixed Methods Study. Inspired by Michel Foucault's genealogical method, as well as Feminist and Gender Studies, the reports were analyzed in order to think about care practices from a perspective situated by issues of gender and race, as a way of knowing, creating and recreating care practices ethically oriented by aesthetics of friendship, as Foucault suggested in his studies on care of the self.
