Fracturing the locus - María Lugones’ Influence in Brazil

Abstract:

This article aims to map the influence of María Lugones in Brazil, which continues to grow, even after her death, through dialogues full of criticisms, or crises, that her own concepts and theories provoke. Understanding that Lugones made his work inexhaustible, reaching Brazilian feminisms and meeting the demands of academia and social movements, the proposed methodology seeks academic papers that discussed deeply her main concepts or applied them to specific research. As a result of the investigation, Lugones is perceived as a subject-theory-key for contemporary Brazilian feminisms that embrace decoloniality and intersectionality, fracturing the locus of the mainstream, evoking activism and utopias in Brazil as well.
