Abstract

The aim of this article is to discuss the concepts of self-representation and identity, as well as the relation between self-portrait and autobiography. The discussion based on the comparative analysis of the book Quarto de Despejo by Carolina Maria de Jesus and Frida Kahlo's self-portraits.
