Patron saints of Mexican migrants in the U.S.

Most undocumented Mexican migrants who seek employment in the United States are catholic, for this reason, they have incorporated into their patron saints devotions, the tribulations they experience in their journey from their home communities to the northern border, the dangers of the undocumented crossing, the search for employment and the possibility of deportation. The main objective of this article is to analyze the most important characteristics of three devotions of undocumented migrants in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico: Santo Toribio Romo, "El Santo Pollero" who was canonized in 2000, Blessed Juan Bautista Scalabrini, founder of the Scalabrini Missionaries and Juan Soldado who originated from popular religiosity.
