This article discusses the banishment process of convicts sentenced by Portuguese civil courts to Portuguese Amazon - State of Grão-Pará and Maranhão (1751-1772) and State of the Grão-Pará and Rio Negro (1772-1823) in the second half of the eighteenth century, focused on the analysis that the design of banishment serves the needs of the Portuguese empire from two different logics: delete and incorporate.
