The digital culture that has taken place in the twenty-first century brought new standards for the creation, dissemination and preservation of Brazilian music. In order to investigate the narratives that are created in this contemporary setting, in their constructions of memory and history, the cultural historian requires a new conceptual, methodological, institutional and discursive approach. This research aims to diagnose and systematize these challenges in order to hue some perspectives for this new conceptual scenario, around the concepts developed here of "memory in dispute" and "equivalent memory".
