ABSTRACT
Of the 55 poems comprising Carlos Drummond de Andrade’sA rosa do povo, 36 were originally published in the press (1942-1945), and many of them make reference to the medium in which they appeared, either by making the medium itself of one their themes or by establishing dialogues with other texts published in the periodicals they appeared. It is intended to establish an approximation between the poet, from “Caso do vestido”, and Nelson Rodrigues, with the pamphlet Meu destino é pecar (under the pseudonym of Suzana Flag) both printed on the pages of O Jornal(1944). For this, and respecting the distinct nature of the texts, it performs a close reading of the poeme, and an examination of the plot and the rhetoric of the prose, with the aim of observing how both writers depict the theme of perversion.
