The fourth issue of the 2014 volume of IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal (Volume 7 Number 4) is now published. This issue brings eight articles on topics related to concrete structures and materials. The first article presents fragility curves for the evaluation of a highway bridge located in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada, retrofitted with seismic isolator devices. The focus of the second article is the analysis of accidental loads used for garage floors considering the recommendations of international norms. The third article uses experimental results from two-way reinforced concrete ribbed flat slabs with rectangular holes close to the column and without shear reinforcement to evaluate estimates obtained from ACI 318 and NBR 6118. The behavior of slab-column connections in a reinforced concrete flat slab and strengthened to shear with carbon fiber reinforced polymer is discussed in the fourth article. Another article addresses the influence of the sugar cane bagasse ashes on concrete mechanical behavior. The sixth article discusses evaluation of shear strength of reinforced concrete one-way ribbed slabs without stirrups. The protective capacity of concretes produced with metakaolin with respect to transportation and penetration of chlorides is the subject of the seventh article. The issue closes with an evaluation of the physical properties of grout enriched rolled compacted concrete, replacing the conventional concrete usually employed in the face, using the same materials, labor and equipment used in the construction of the Maua Hydro Power Plant.
