Abstract:
Although abortion is not criminalized in Brazil in three specific situations: as a result of rape, risk of maternal death and anencephalic fetuses; and it is foreseen that abortion assistance in these situations should occur in public health services there arestill many barriers to the realization of this right, either due to the moral and religious factors of health professionals, or due to the precarious Unified Health System (SUS) Which is collapsed in the face of numerous demands and scarce investments.Thus, this article intends to summarize the main challenges to the Unified Health System (SUS) and the impacts on abortion assistance provided by law, more precisely to those from sexual violence.
