This text analyzes the relationship of ethics with Social Work considering the principle of social responsibility in intervention with the elderly. It analyzes this principle using concepts from various authors who place it in different positions, and examines a case of professional intervention with an elderly person. The reflection on this case considers two dimensions of analysis (one more normative and another more hypothetical and prospective). Finally, it debates the technical decisions and their effects on elderly people and on the profession of Social Work.
