This article is meant as a contribution to the current discussion on the topic of anxiety carried out in the Work Group entitled “Psychopathology and Psychoanalysis,” of Anpepp. The question of avoiding anxiety in contemporary life is discussed, especially regarding that anxiety seen among psychoanalysts themselves, sometimes fascinated by solutions offered by today’s psychiatry, so strongly anchored in new and effective medications.
