Violence et dire, pour une rhétorique du soin

André Quaderi

The phenomenon of violence is discussed in this article through a multiple approach (psychopathology of work, language sciences and psychoanalysis) and through group-based clinincal work in a geriatric institution. The effects of speaking in a clinical situation bring about changes in the behavior of care givers, and the causes of this reality are discussed here. The Taylorization of the organization inhibits the relationship between care-givers and the other and crystalizes it into a purely beaurcratic function. The negative effects are attributed to Thanatos, whereas the effects of speaking (interpreted as a rhetoric of care) should be understood as related to Eros.
