Symptomatic response in phobia: love fleeing from the encounter with jouissance

This article discusses the symptom of phobia in psychoanalytic terms and the question of how sexuality functions in the formation of phobic symptoms, that is, between the imaginary effects of love and the fields of enjoyment and desire. Based on the premise that the phallus symbolizes an irreducible lack, phobia is considered a response by the subject entrenched between love in flight and the encounter with jouissance. The case of Little Hans positioned phobia as a response to the dissymmetry of love and the insistence of the drives.
