This paper is intended as a reflection on perversion in women. It is based on the principle that perversion in women does not have the same form as in men, and that each sex sees its body as instrument in a different way. It discusses the approximation of perversion in women with conversion hysteria and with psychosomatic phenomena, but it especially highlights the action of Verleugnung (basic mechanism of perversion) in the body. These questions are taken up based on fragments of a clinical case and on Alain Abelhauser’s point of view, as presented in his article, La femme et la perversion, presented at the Cycle of Studies sponsored by the Association Freudienne Internationale (Paris, January, 1999).
