The purpose of this paper is to analyze Nelson Rodrigues' Boca de Ouro in aspects related to perversion and resentment. The construction of the anti-hero Boca de Ouro reveals the workings of a corrupted Super-ego, in which he appeals to tyranny as a reactive formation to defend himself from the resentment of being a fatherless child, and whose mother gave birth to him in a nightclub sink The concept of resentment is discussed based on Freudian psychoanalysis and on Nietzsche's philosophy.
