Algumas questões técnicas levantadas por uma prática com crianças na ótica psicanalítica

Based on a conference, the author brings up questions related to the theory of analytic technique and practice with children and adolescents, often sent to therapy due to failures in school or various types of delinquency. He proposes a practice that basically takes the reality of these patients into account, as they often experience situations of physical and psychological mistreatment, and end up taking the path of failure, exclusion and violence. If the analyst fails to recognize this reality and, in contrast, seeks to isolate this reality from the analytic work in the name of neutrality, he or she will be unable to provide the bridge needed to connect with the patient’s mental world. In this regard, Michel Plon speaks of the “practice of the psychoanalytic viewpoint.” The author approaches a second important aspect in this discussion, which is the question of language, namely the difference in language between the patient and his or her social milieu. This aspect often seems to be a merely cultural problem, but it may in fact be much more complex and heterogeneous, namely, the relationship that the child or adolescent establishes with language – the registration of the subject into language.
