Abstract
The floristic treatment of the only species of Velloziaceae from canga of the Serra dos Carajás, Pará, Brazil is presented, including descriptions, illustrations, geographic distribution, and comments. Vellozia glauca is widely distributed in the mountains of Bahia, Goiás, Tocantins, northern part of the Espinhaço Range in Minas Gerais, and northern São Paulo state. In Carajás this species normally has white flowers, which is an uncommon occurrence for this species, that presents violed flowers elsewhere.
