ABSTRACT
This paper presents new records of species of Leguminosae in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Taxonomic and morphological comments and geographical distribution of these new records are reported. The inventory was based on both herbarium material and our own plant collections. Eleven new records are reported, of which one belongs to the Caesalpinioideae: Senna macranthera var. micans, five to the Mimosoideae: Calliandra harrisii, Acacia lewisii, A. recurva, A. tucumanensis, Senegalia langsdorffii, and five to the Papilionoideae: Aeschynomene gracilis, A. viscidula, Ateleia guaraya, Desmodium affine, and D. tortuosum. These new records highlight the importance of regional floristic studies and the need to carry out intensive fieldwork to improve the sampling within the state.
