Abstract
We present the taxonomic treatment of Simaroubaceae species occurring in Espírito Santo state, Brazil. This study is the result of the combination of fieldwork and analysis of specimens deposited in herbaria that house relevant collections of the Espírito Santo. The family is represented in the state by six species belonging to three genera: Homalolepis (4 spp.), Picrasma (1 sp.) and Simarouba (1 sp.). All species are forest trees, recorded in submontane dense ombrophilous forest, tabuleiro forest and restinga forest. The treatment includes identification keys, detailed morphological descriptions, illustrations, photographs, and comments on taxonomy, distribution, habitat and phenology of each species.
