Anatomia foliar de Psychotria velloziana Benth. (Rubiaceae)

ABSTRACT

PSYCHOTRIA VELLOZIANA BENTH., WITH REPRESENTATIVE OCCURRENCE IN THE RAIN FOREST OF MACAÉ DE CIMA - RJ, PRESENTS INTERPETIOLAR STIPULE; SMOOTH LEAF SURFACE; BILAYERED EPIDERMIS IN THE ADAXIAI SURFACE. THE LEAVES ARE HYPOSTOMATIC, WITH PARACYTIC AND PARALLELOCYTIC STOMATA, DORSIVENTRAL MESOPHYLL AND COLLATERAL VASCULAR BUNDLES. MECHANICAL TISSUE SHOWS UP FIBERS TO THE EXTERIOR SIDE OF A VASCULAR BUNDLE AND ANGULAR COLLENCHYMA IN THE PETIOLE AND MIDRIB VEIN. RAPHIDES, PRISMS AND STYLOIDS CRYSTALS WERE SEEN IN THE PETIOLE AND BLADE LEAF. IN THIS SPECIE OCCURS DOMATIA IN THE ABAXIAL SURFACE AND COLLETER IN THE STIPULE BASE.
