Paulo Cesar Vinha State Park (PEPCV) is an important preservation area in the State of Espírito Santo, and although it is the best studied coastal region in the state, taxonomic studies on the flora are still scarce. This study is a floristic and taxonomic survey of the Mimosoideae of the PEPCV. Fortnightly collections were carried out from August/2008 to June/2009, on pre-existing trails within the park, as well as random walks to survey all phytophysiognomies. Mimosoideae is represented by 10 taxa in five genera: Albizia, Inga, Mimosa, Piptadenia and Senegalia. The most representative genus in species number is Mimosa (4 spp.), followed by Inga (3 spp.). The other genera have one species each. Mimosa elliptica and Mimosa sensitiva var. sensitiva are new records for the state of Espírito Santo, and Inga subnuda subsp. subnuda, Mimosa candollei, Mimosa pudica var. hispida, Piptadenia adiantoides and Senegalia lacerans are new records for the PEPCV. This study includes identification of key taxa, descriptions, illustrations, data on geographical distribution, habitat preference, phenologyl and taxonomy.
